Guys!! I need your opinion!! Oh, and the cover for Crescent is in this post.

So, I have a HELL load of stuff to write but I don't know what to do first... The things I have most ideas for at the moment are Patchwork, Rogue, Crescent and By Force/Guardian (I haven't decided on a name yet for the last one).

So, I would like you to tell me what you think should be written first, second, third and fourth.
To help you, I'll give you some run-downs of the plots...

Patchwork - I think you'll know but just in case, the emotions and stuff are put it to bodies with personalities and blah blah blah...

Rogue - A more techy story with hacking into computers and just generally being a gaming nerd.

Crescent - SUPERHEROES!!!!!!!!!!!

By Force/Guardian - This is a new one to you all, I do believe, but anyway, it involves aliens, rebels and teen survivors. It aught to be fun to write and, hopefully, fun to read. You can say your favourite name for this one too.

So... Which should be first and last? I want to know, people!!

Oh, the cover, before I forget.

Who's scarier? Zombies or Clowns?

It's the age old question of whether you would rather deal with a zombie apocalypse, because all they can do is eat you, or go to the circus and see a clown, and only the Golden God knows what they're capable of...

So yes, zombies. They're the undead, generally very stupid and smell like rotting meat. They come to nibble on your brains but can be stopped with a few bullets to the chest and some to the head.

Or clowns? The stuff of lots of people's nightmares. With their painted faces and reports in the news of how they can go a little coco, kidnap children and - well, you get the picture. How can they be stopped? I have no clue! They always seem to come back to get you no matter how many times you shoot/stab/punch/kick/drug/poison them.

So, who's creepier? Zombies or clowns? Discuss.

Crescent, Chapter 2 - A Normal Day?...

Philip sat at his desk in Form. They were all single desks that contained the textbooks for whichever subject was taught in the room..
Mr Radly sat behind his desk and took the register. After this, he pulled out his newspaper and let them do whatever except leave or get too noisy. Philip's best friend, Kyle, wrote something on a piece of paper, folded it into an aeroplane and few it over to him. Philip opened it.

Hey Phil, who's the new chick?

It read in Kyle's, and all the other students, fancy scrawl.
Philip looked up and, sure enough, there was the new girl, sitting at a, once empty, desk at the front.
Her raven hair hung just above her elbows. On the left side ide of her face, some of her hair was clipped back with a twinkling, silver crescent hair pin. Her pale fingers tapped out a rhythm on her desk. Her face showed no emotion, just blankness as she gazed out of the windows. Her eyes were grey and the iris' were the same colour and perfect circles of the full moon.

Not a clue.

he wrote, in his Hayfield print, and threw it back.
The bell rang and Philip and Kyle waited outside their Form room for Jessica, the only other person who would talk to Philip without mocking him, and they started up the old, wooden staircases.
"You know who the new girl was, Jess?" Kyle asked.
"Her name's Luna Heart. I heard she moved here from London." she said.
"What a name, eh, Phil?" Kyle said.
Philip nodded as they reached the first floor and Jess turned to them.
"I've got French, I'll see you later." she said, kissed Kyle and scurried down the languages corridor.
Kyle and Philip, however, carried on up two more flights of stairs and onto the geography floor where they waited outside the core room. They lined up outside the room with the seventeen others, all of whom looked at Philip like he was something they had scraped off their shoe, and Kyle cocked his head at Philip.
"You okay, Phil? You haven't said much since seeing this Luna." Kyle said, arching his eyebrows with a smile playing at the edges of his mouth.
Philip glared at him slightly. "No, I'm fine. It's just my sister's getting back today." he said, desperately looking for another reason he could say he was quiet because of.
"Oh yeah, the camp thing finishes today, doesn't it. You gonna be okay?" Kyle asked with genuine concern.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. It just goes back to how it was." Philip said, shrugging. He hated his life. His Hayfield life. His Hayfield accent stuck out in the school for Redbrook children. They clipped their words so each syllable was clear and defined but Philip's speech was slightly slower, his t's and d's were less pronounced and each word flowed into the next so it sounded like one long word. It was a constant reminder that he didn't belong here.

In core geography, nobody ever really did anything. The teacher didn't care as he knew nobody here liked the subject or they would have taken it, so he handed out sheets that were easily finished within five minutes and the rest of the lesson was devoted to chatting, doodling  and just general messing around.
Kyle sat by Philip, the only one who would besides Jess, and they played hangman on the back of Kyle's sheet.
"Oi! Scumbug!" Andrew called from the table next to Philip. Andrew Lawson was the son of a rich banker and he thought he was untouchable. Philip longed to reach over and use some of the 'skills' he had learnt in his first yeah of high school, which was spent at Hayfield High as he was moved halfway through his second year, but instead he looked over and sighed.
"Yes?" he said, making it clear he was already bored of the conversation.
"Listen to him! He sounds like he's in slloooooww moooootioooonnn." Andrew said, stretching out the words with comical faces. All of his friends laughed.
"Well a least he wasn't snogging Alicia Brown before school." Kyle retorted, glaring at Andrew.
Andrew went red and was torn between anger an embarrassment. Philip wondered how long it would take for this to get onto Facebook and/or Twitter.
The cries of 'Oh?', 'Oooo!' and 'Aww!' went up from his friends and he spluttered, any thoughts of teasing Philip gone.
The bell rang and everyone clattered out of the class, Andrew still denying he did anything with Alicia.
"Thanks Kyle, but did he really?" Philip said, going to the stairs.
"No problem and yeah, he did, behind the maths block. Sasha told me." Kyle said and Philip knew how much Sasha gossiped. They were still laughing about this when they turned onto English corridor C and Jess ran up, her face a mask of fear, urgency and shock.

Now it starts to get interesting but you'll just have to wait I'm afraid.

OI, HTC!! I HATE YOU!

I have a HTC Sensation, and up until about ten minutes ago - it was brilliant! I could check my email, blog and do whatever but after some systems update it is FUCKED UP!! It took it 20 minutes to download these updates and now I can barely check my email, I can't blog because I can't sign in and when I finally do it takes an age to load pages and there's no pop up box so you have go through and load them at, like, 20 comments at a time. My phone now doesn't recognise my contacts, I can't sign in to YouTube and there is no way I can find to change it back. So, yea, HTC - YOU SCREWED UP!! Big time. I want to go and get a different phone now because I can't use mine, maybe I should get an iPhone, my friend has got one and it's brilliant. You brought this on yourself HTC! If you read this then, SORT THE GOD DAMN PROBLEM!! I want the old style back and internet I can actually use. I think I might just get my old Samsung out and use that, it's in Polish or something now but it makes more sense than this stupid HTC! So, yeah, you get it - I. HATE. YOUR. GUTS!! If I don't find a way to fix my phone then, bye bye HTC and I will cheer for Apple all the way. If you read this then let me give you some advice, if you ever have a HTC - don't update it, it will fuck it up.

Screw you HTC. Screw. You.

Crescent, Chapter 1 - Lucky Scum...

Okay, so Crescent is getting back to basics with the story. Yup, the original awesome dudes - superheroes. It's set in the fictional city of Sudbinam which is slightly futuristic but not really. This is just a taster so you can see what it's going to be like. So, yeah, expect shock, mysteries, maybe a bit of humour and possibly anger at some of the infuriating situations. So, I'll shut up now. *claps hands once* Let's go!

Philip woke up staring at his ceiling, as usual. Ugh, he thought when he remembered it was Monday. He got up, turned off his alarm and went through to the kitchen. He nearly ripped his pyjama trousers on a screw sticking out from the hallway door and he decided to fix it before school.
When he got into the kitchen, he poured himself some cereal then remembered they were out of milk so he just ate it dry. He stood by the half-wall divide between the kitchen and living room and switched on the TV.
"... Over to Davina Sky, now, with an on-the-spot report. Helen?" the newsreader said and then the screen changed so it showed Tower Square with another news reporter standing in the wind and rain, surrounded by protesters.
"As you can see, Kate," she said "Everyone here is pretty angry." That's an understatement, Philip thought. They were pushing, shoving and screaming at each other. "All of the people protesting here today have been affected by the recent crime spree that seems to have no end..." and she went into some report which contained helicopter footage of the ares affected and interviews with people who were saying that the police weren't doing enough to help. He turned off the TV, put his bowl in the sink and checked the calender.
March sixteenth, his sister would be back from her school camping trip later and Philip thought of all the extra stress. He went to the bathroom and showered then went into his bedroom and pulled on his uniform, checked he had everything in his bag and found his hammer and hit the screw back into the door. Should hold for another couple of weeks, he thought.
He was about to open the door when it opened from the other side and his mum looked at him.
"Oh, I'm sorry, hun. I was late again. I promise I'll be back at seven tomorrow." she said, giving him a bone-crushing hug. She was a head shorter than Philip but her features were kind. She was still wearing her cleaners uniform and the smell of disinfectant was strong on her hands. Her eyes were an icy green and her hair was a flaming red that framed her pale, tired face.
"It's okay, Mum." he said from the smothering hug.
"No, it's not. But don't let me make you late for school." she said and kissed him goodbye.
He smiled as she closed the door behind him. He crossed to the elevators across from their little flat and waited until it dinged on to his level.
He got in and waited until it got to the ground floor. The lift was old and rusting. The once shiny chrome, now tinged with orange and brown. It smelled of urine and cigarette buts and a manner of other assorted things littered the floor.
He got out out of the lift and went out onto the street outside. The rain had moved on and now bright light filtered down between the tall blocks of flats. Philip checked his watch and swore when he saw it was nearly twenty past eight. He ran down the street, past the corner shop and turned the corner and ran along the riverside to the train station. He got there just in time and swiped his pass and boarded the train.
He took his usual seat in the corner of the train and looked out of the window. Underground first, with only blackness to see but then the track sloped upwards and broke onto the surface.
It stopped at Redbrook station on the other side of the Stor river. Redbrook station was the local station for all the businesspeople , who lived in the new flats and houses lining the river, who worked in the city centre. They all sat down in their usual seats wearing their suits and carrying a briefcase or a newspaper. Nobody sat next to Philip as he came from Hayfield on the other side of the Stor. To these people, he was scum. All of the dregs of the city got flushed into Hayfield, along with those who couldn't afford the expensive rent of any decent accommodation and had to scrape a living. Like his mother.
The train travelled for five minutes over land, the neat gardens of the 'upper-class' folk flashing by. He closed his eyes and only a faint purr told him the engine was still running. He looked back out of the window as the track rose from the land and crossed another bend in the river and into the business sector. At one of the sky scraper offices, the now monorail-style train stopped at a platform and the business people got off.
The train carried on, dipping through the high rise buildings, crossing other monorails and, occasionally, riding alongside the roads and motorways that criss-crossed the heart of Sudbinam.
Finally the train headed towards the Earth and stopped in the private sector. Philip jumped off and ran to the Jonathan Myles Academy.  Anyone else from Hayfield would be going to Hayfield High. An overcrowded school, where all the other 'scum' went, but the Headmaster of JMA had noticed that Philip was exceptionally good at science and maths and had given him a place, no payment required.
Philip went into the old red brick school but stopped in the main entrance, under the large stone arch. The other students were wasting time, waiting for the bell. He looked over his shoulder. The fountain was there, as normal, and the water was shining in the weak, morning sun, but something seemed different. The water looked darker, more malevolent. Then the bell went and all thoughts of the fountain floated away from his mind.

***

The girl looked at Philip as he climbed the steps of the entrance.
"You sure this is him?" she asked the man standing next to her under the shade of an apple tree.
"Yes, this is him. He has an ability. Can you feel it?" the man asked.
The girl nodded but didn't really know what he meant. She headed towards the school and away from the cover of the trees. She smiled. She just knew this was going to be fun...

So, what do you think? It will be back to Patchwork tomorrow but I just wanted to get some feedback before I write any more.

Patchwork, Chapter 5 - Freedom At Last...

When they had got home, Mort had almost ran to his room. He'd pulled on his pyjamas and just curled up on his bed. All without saying a single word.
He woke at ten o'clock the next morning and was very glad it was Saturday. He went downstairs to get his breakfast to find a note stuck to the fridge on a yellow post-it note. It read...

Dad at Council meeting.
I've been called into work
as Jane is ill. I should be
back around 4 + Dad at 6.
There's still some food in
the fridge.
See you later.    Mum x

Mort read the note as he waited for his toast to pop up. So, he had the house to himself until four. And then he remembered he had no homework and he smiled as he buttered his toast.
He finished his breakfast and washed up his plate then went upstairs and pulled on a T-shirt and some jeans, grabbed his laptop and wasted a few hours on YouTube. If he ran out of things to watch on YouTube, he would pull out a book and read until he thought of something else to watch. And so, that is what his routine consisted of that day. Back and forth from his laptop to the book shelf until four o'clock when he went upstairs, grabbed his finished RE essay and a pen and sat at the dining table with them. When he heard Paura's car outside he traced over the last sentence so the ink looked fresh, because if Paura thought he had done nothing all day she would probably have his trim the tree or mow the lawn.
"Hey Mort." she said when she came in. She still looked ill but better than the night before.
"Hi, how was work?" he asked, stretching as if he had been working on the essay all day.
"Oh, okay, I guess. I had to cover Jane's desk for the day but it wasn't that hard." she said. Mort didn't really know what Paura did but he knew it was in one of the office blocks in town. "How was your day?" she asked, putting her bag on the table and glancing at the essay.
"Oh, usual. Homework, bit of music. Just stuff." he shrugged.
Paura sighed and sat opposite him. "About last night, Mort, Sinne was just on edge. Him and Rohkeus someone might be deliberately stopping the Feelings from being reborn. He didn't mean anything." she said.
"Yeah, course." Mort mumbled, he picked up his essay and headed to the stairs. He could feel his left cheek burning again, and the sound his neck had made as it had cracked to his right filled his ears.
"Really, Mort. Don't say anything." she said and he turned back to her to see her gaze was a pleading one, even if her voice was the same neutral as usual.
He nodded once and went back to his room. When he got there he turned on his iPod in its speakers, set it into his Two Steps From Hell playlist and lay on his bed, thinking. He drifted in and out of conciousness and when he was finally woke by hunger it was one in the morning. He opened his door, stuck his head out and cocked it to listen.
Sinne was snoring at no sound floated up from downstairs so he crept down and pulled an apple from the fridge and ate it slowly as not to make any noise. Now he had eaten, his brain realised he should be asleep and he instantly felt like just going to sleep then and there but he managed to get back upstairs and fell face first onto his bed and was asleep before his nose hit the pillow.

In his sleep, Mort felt something stirring.
The said something was laughing and, as it laughed, it broke free of its ancient chains. It rose up and out of its prison and Mort felt another presence now too.
"Freedom at last..." the thing said, in a voice older than time and stronger than all of the forces of nature. "Now go," it continued "You must stop the Council. If he gets his Responsibilities the he could free the other Feelings. If he does that, then we both shall fall." the ancient thing said, shaking off the last of the chains that had bound it.
"Yes, I shall stop them." the other said. "But what about Life, Master Opstanak?" he continued.
"Hmm..." Opstanak said, the noise low and load like thunder. "Leave her be. I want to have some fun while I wait. It will be fun to tease the boy with her." he laughed, a sound not much different from grinding metal.
"Yes, naturally." the other said and his presence faded until it was gone.
Opstanak turned back to his old prison and sighed. "Brother, sister; I would free you and allow you to come with me but you were willing to betray me in the final days of the war so I go alone. If, someday, you prove your faithfulness, I will come back and free you but, alas, right now, I do not see the point." he said, and with a twirl of his dark blue robes, he was gone.

***

Mort woke to find light streaming in through his window and the smell of toast wafted into his room from the kitchen. But nothing could relax him. Not now. Not after that. He could only hear one thing in his head, over and over again.
       Opstanak was free.

Patchwork, Chapter 4 - The Ceremony Of Rights...

To Mort, the ceremony was a bit dull but he tried his best to concentrate. The Council was always made up of six members. In the past it had always been the Feelings but now that they were not being reborn, Emotions had to elect Councillors.
So, the Council that day was made up of Sinne Nightingale, Ura Evig, Jalousi Domin, Rohkeus Laaja, Fortvilelse Lütfen and Shari'a Kulle. Or, if you use their proper names and not their Mortal covers, they are Anger, Hatred, Jealousy, Boldness, Despair and Decisions.
When all of the Emotions had settled into the Main Hall, the Council entered from the back door and sat on the thrones on the dais - females on the left, males on the right.
Mort and Paura watched as Sinne called "Life, come forward." and through the the grand arch at the back of the Hall walked Liv.
She was wearing a long, strapless, white gown (which shimmered faintly blue), her blonde hair hung loose over her shoulders, a silver band was wrapped around her arm above her left elbow and it was set with bright blue jewels. Her eyes were the same colour as the twinkling gems and they darted around the Hall nervously.
Mort knew how nervous the Ceremony of Rights could be. Even though you go through it in every life, it is still completely nerve-wrecking.
Life reached the dais and curtseyed before the Council.
"Life, do you vow to take on your roles as an Emotion and work in harmony with Death to keep the stream of energy continuous?" Jalousi said, her voice a little cold and slightly regal.
"I do." Life replied, speaking with the same note of formality and with a small glance at Mort.
"Do you also vow to show courage and faithfulness to your Responsibilities and not follow the poisoned path and ways of the Instincts?" Fortvilelse asked, leaning forward in his throne slightly, his auburn hair fighting the gel he had clearly used to try and keep it down.
"I do." Life said, her confidence clearly growing.
"Thane take your circlet and staff." Sinne said and a ring of silver weaved itself on top of Liv's head and her staff appeared in her right hand.
It was a long, thin, wooden pole topped with an egg shape that seemed to be made from white wire and silver and in the centre of the cage floated a small orb of yellow light. Along the shaft was a design of twisting, gold swirls that moved along the wooden pole.
This was Liv as Mort remembered her.

After the actual ceremony was a small party in one of the small, unused halls, organised by Liv's rebirth father, Autuus, who was leading a string trio on is violin in one corner. They were playing a slow waltz and a few people danced to it in the middle of the room. There were circular tabled draped with white table cloths and had about six chairs to them scattered around the edges of the room.
Rätsel was sitting at one table talking to Extscis who seemed to be laughing at something he had just said.
Mort rolled his eyes. He can be quite the charmer, he thought.
In another corner of the room sat Espoir, alone and reading a Mortal fiction book by the look of it.
Mort sat a table with Paura as Sinne was discussing something with Jalousi. Paura was sitting staring into space, eyes unfocussed and Mort was looking at an oil painting across the room from him.
It was a picture of Kutatás, Lussuria and Opstanak being dispersed from their bodies and being locked inside Human Nature. The artist had depicted the three Instincts as ugly and twisted when Mort remembered how Lussuria had looked. She had been lean, agile and many foolish, Mortal men had died to win her hand. Then he remembered how she had looked when she had pleaded with him to let her go, tear streaking her face, anger and sadness in her eyes and the feeling of detachment he had felt as he had swung his scythe and...
His chain of thought was broken when Rätsel sat down next to him. At some point, Paura had gotten up and gone to another table without him noticing.
"Hey, Mo." Rätsel said as he sat down, his emerald green robes rustling slightly as he did.
"Hi, Rätsel. I see you've got Extscis wrapped around your finger." Mort said, looking over Rätsel's shoulder at Exie.
"Huh? Oh, right. Mum always told me I was too charming for my own good." he said with a slight smile.
"I bet you couldn't charm Espoir." Mort said, looking for Espoir in the crowd and found her talking to Liv. Surprise surprise.
Now, that sounds like a challenge and I am not doing another challenge you set me." Rätsel said, leaning back in his seat and folding his arms.
"What happened last time? I can't remember..." Mort said with fake curiosity and tapped his chin in fake thought.
"You know full well what happened! You said I should try talking to Honradez because she was depressed or something and I got out 'Hi, how are you-' when she bitch-slapped me. Oh, and then Laifi kicked me because he fancied her. And you filmed it on your phone and tried to put it on YouTube!" Rätsel was clearly annoyed and Mort found him pretty scary when he was annoyed but he reasoned that this was payback.
"Oh yeah." Mort said as if he had only just remembered.
"'Oh yeah'? That's it? Good God, man - you're hopeless." Rätsel grumbled then got up and went to walk to someone else.
Mort chuckled a bit. So this was how Rätsel felt every time he sighed or rolled his eyes. No wonder Rätsel annoyed him a lot.
The he realised that Espoir was leaving with her rebirth mother Jalousi. He saw this as an opportunity so he got up and crossed the room to where Liv was.
"Hey, congrats." he said, when she waved at him.
"Oh, yeah. Thanks. I reckon you'll be the next to get your Resps now." she said, sitting down at the nearest free table and Mort joined her. I heard Rohkeus saying a Dark would get their Resps soon."
"It could be Rätsel." Mort pointed out even though he longed to hold his scythe again.
"Oh, yeah, I guess it could but I still reckon it will be you." she said smiling, her teeth sparkling white in the light from the closest chandelier.
"Aww, thanks. Probably because you can't have life without death, insert the rest of the long dull speech here, eh?" he said, thinking of how hard it will be to juggle having a secret life, homework and energy transferring.
Liv laughed. "Yeah, the speech is pretty dull. That too, but I just thought because you were showing progress." she said, blushing slightly.
Mort opened his mouth to say thanks when a large hand rested on his shoulder.
"Hello, Life. Nice to see you got your Resps early but we really have to go." Sinne said and pulled Mort up by the scruff of his neck and pushed him away from the table.
Liv did not even manage a word of goodbye and Mort could barely lift his hand to wave before Sinne had pushed him out of the hall.
Sinne pushed, shoved and dragged Mort back to the square and then transported the three of the back. Paura remained silent, eyes cast down and Mort worried that Sinne had struck her.
When they were back in the glade, Sinne held the car door closed and glared at Mort.
"What have I said about mixing with Lights?" he growled when Paura was in the car, head still down.
"But I was only wishing her congratulations." Mort objected.
"Only congratulations my immortality. Any dumb fool can see  you're head-over-heels for her." Sinne said.
"That's absurd! She is my partner, a colleague, a co-worker. I wouldn't, and even if I did, she wouldn't feel the same." Mort said, and he felt deep inside that she never would feel the same. No matter what.
"Don't lie to me, Death," Mort knew he was in deep trouble if Sinne wasn't calling him by his Mortal cover name. "I can see through it." he growled.
"But I'm-" Mort started but Sinne hit him with the palm of him right hand. Mort's head snapped to his right and his left cheek burned but he gritted his teeth and fought back the tears of pain.
"Get in." Sinne snapped and climbed in behind the wheel.
Mort got in and looked out of the window as it started to rain, the rivers of water running down the window turning the stars into shining streaks rather than bright pinpricks, and one thought buzzed around his head.
       Why me?

Anyway... Some of you want to know who you would be if you were emotions, and I really don't know so here is the run down of the main characters so far - not including Instincts. Most of them are the emotion they are with a few other bits chucked in but you get the odd one who has to be different.

Mort - He's shy but a hero at heart. He's always a little nervous but he is actually a very strong character even if you can't see it at first.

Liv - She's just nice. That's all you really say. She's a nice little good girl who hasn't done anything bad... Yet...

Rätsel - He's outgoing, funny and loveable. He can charm anyone he wants and takes pleasure in annoying his best friend, Mort.

Espoir - She has hope in a lot of things but rarely shows it. She feels unappreciated because people hope for everything but take her for granted. She's actually really nice if you break through her rock solid outer shell but it takes a while to prove to her you can be trusted.

Sinne - He's angry and violent. He gets worked up over tiny things and always seems to be up to something. He can't be trusted and is very willing to betray people.
